Chief Lauretta Hill

Chief Hill spent more than 20 years at the Arlington Police Department, retiring as the assistant chief of police. She managed the departments UASI grant (Urban Area Security Initiative) in an effort to reduce the risk to critical infrastructure within the city of Arlington. In addition, the grant allowed me to equip first responders with needed equipment for tactical deployment in the event of terrorist attack. She partnered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other law enforcement executives to engage in the national discussion for police utilization of small-unmanned aviation system (SUAS) vehicles in urban areas. The city of Arlington Police Department was the first agency to receive a COA (Certificate of Authorization) in an urban area. She directed all security operations for Super Bowl XLV, 2010 and 2011 World Series, NBA All-Star Game and numerous other marquee events held at Cowboys Stadium and the Rangers Ball Park in Arlington. She also served at the Deputy Chief of Police, Miami Beach Police Department from August 2014 to August 2016, before taking the assignment of Commissioner of Public Safety and Security at DCCCD, a position she has held for more than three years now.
